The American Legion Post 59 Golf Group will be hosting its 1st Annual Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Trini Alvarez El Rio Golf Course to honor Sgt. Martin Lugo Jr. and Private 1st Class Angel Carranza, members at Post 59.
You can support this event by participating as a player in the golf tournament or sponsor a T-Box Sign with your name or business logo. This organization is a 501 (c) (19) non-profit organization, so your contribution, or a portion, is tax deductible.
Net proceeds from this event will be used for immediate equipment upgrades and the future construction and expansion of the Post 59 building. This will benefit all members and guests that patronize Post 59 as a grand organization that supports all American Military Veterans.
Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while in the military. In observance of the holiday, many people visit cemeteries and memorials. Volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries.
