TRAFFIC ALERT DOWNTOWN STREET CLOSURES

Beginning Thursday, October 13, 2011, through Monday, October 17, 2011, the events listed below will require the closure of some downtown streets.

UniSource Energy - Thursday, October 13, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m., 6^th Avenue from 12^th Street to Broadway will be closed to all vehicular traffic.  The Ryan Company will be performing testing on the new fire system for the UniSource Energy Building. 

Tucson Meet Yourself – Beginning Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 6 p.m. until Monday, October 17, 2011 at 6 a.m., Church Avenue from Alameda Street to Pennington Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic to accommodate booths, stages and heavy pedestrian traffic attending the Tucson Meeting Yourself event.

For all the above events, motorists should obey all traffic control signs and watch for event participants and spectators.

The Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) keeps Tucson moving smoothly and safely. The Department’s nearly 250 employees oversee the maintenance and reconstruction of nearly 1,900 miles of streets and are responsible for hundreds of drainage structures, public art pieces, street lights and signs, and traffic signs and signals in Tucson. TDOT also operates the City’s transit services, Sun Tran and Sun Van.
