The City of Tucson ’s Department of Procurement is proud to announce that Senior Contract Officer Christina Schipansky has been named the 2011 Buyer of the Year by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Inc. (NIGP) Copper Chapter of Southern Arizona.
Schipansky has been with the Department of Procurement for 7 years.
Throughout her career, Schipansky has demonstrated the utmost level of professionalism and has been innovative in her approach to contracting for complex services. She is also fast becoming a sought after presenter for public speaking engagements pertaining to various aspects of public procurement.
The NIGP Copper Chapter of Southern Arizona is comprised of approximately 80 government procurement professionals. NIGP is an international, membership-based non-profit organization providing support to more than 15,000 professionals in the public sector purchasing profession.
