Volunteer with the Red Cross

Hello Everyone! This summer we have a project for youth ages 11-18 to learn about how Tucson is prepared in an emergency.



 I have attached the flier as well as included the information below. Please spread the word to parents or youth who might be interested in learning about these things! We also have many other projects to choose from, so please spread the word! Earthquake! Fire! Tsunami! Oh, my! Curious about how Tucson responds to an emergency? Take a week with the Tucson Police Department, Rural/Metro Fire, and the Red Cross to learn all about Tucson's disaster relief. You'll spend some time touring a fire truck and ambulance, getting a first-hand look at how the Red Cross prepares for an emergency, and you'll round out the week teaching the youngsters at House of Neighborly Service what you learned. Safety first! Dates/Times: Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Location: Monday: Police Department, 101 W. Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) is a program of Volunteer Southern Arizona that engages youth ages 11-18 in meaningful service learning projects in the Greater Tucson area. Projects are led by AmeriCorps members and impact community issues such as education, emergency preparedness, environment, health, and leadership. This summer holds eight weeks of intensely meaningful and fun-packed service projects. These projects generally take place Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. -How do I get involved?
