What's Closed For New Year's Holiday

The following governmental offices and agencies will be closed or operating on a reduced schedule during the New Year's Holiday.  (From Arizona Daily Star)


City garbage and recycling

• The city of Tucson's residential garbage and recycling collection services won't be affected by the holiday. Commercial trash service is closed Saturday. For information, call Environmental Services at 791-3171 or go to www.tucsonaz.gov/esd
County garbage and recycling

• All county landfills and transfer stations will be closed Friday and Saturday. This includes the Tangerine Road, Ajo and Sahuarita landfills. For information, call 243-7400. For recycling or waste collection in Pima County, call your collection company to confirm the schedule.

• Waste Management services are unaffected by the holiday. For more information, call 744-2600.
Other services

• City, county, state and federal offices will be closed Friday and Saturday.
Bus

• Sun Tran buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Friday and Saturday. The Sun Shuttle won't operate Saturday. For information, call 792-9222 or go to www.suntran.com online.
Post offices

• Closed Saturday.
Pima County Public Library
• Pima County public libraries and the Oro Valley Public Library will be closed Friday and Saturday. Book chutes will be open for customers to return items, and online resources will be available at www.library.pima.gov
Banks
• Some are closed Friday. Call to confirm. Closed Saturday.
School districts
• No classes; most districts on winter break.
University of Arizona and Pima Community College
• No classes Saturday.
Motor Vehicle Division
• Offices closed Saturday.
Emissions
• Closed Saturday.
