City Furlough Day - September 3

City Hall and all City business offices, including all Council offices, will be closed on Friday, September 3, for a furlough day. All City offices and departments are closed on Monday, September 6, the Labor Day holiday.
9-1-1 and fire/medical emergency dispatch services will be maintained on Friday and Monday. Certain other designated City operations and services will continue on Friday by alternating furlough hours for employees.

Tucson Water and the Tucson Department of Transportation will have standby crews available on Friday and Monday to respond to emergency situations as needed.

Environmental Services garbage and recycling collection will have regular Friday service. There will be no collection on Labor Day. The Los Reales Landfill will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is not affected by the furlough or the holiday.

Tucson City Court will be closed on Friday and Monday. Its website at www.tucsonaz.gov/courts can be accessed for information including verifying a court date and making a payment online.

The Reid Park Zoo and Tucson City Golf will remain open on Friday and on Monday. The Tucson Convention Center facilities and Ticket Office will be open on Friday, but closed on Monday.

The City has scheduled nine unpaid furlough days in Fiscal Year 2010-2011 when City offices will be closed for regular business. This applies to all employees except commissioned Tucson Police and commissioned Tucson Fire employees, and designated City Departments which will continue service by using alternate furlough schedules.
