The Tucson Police Department (TPD) has joined with the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force in the National Impaired Driving Crackdown sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The National Impaired Driving Crackdown is being conducted now through September 6, 2010.
During this time period, TPD will deploy additional officers every night with the sole purpose of locating impaired drivers. In addition, two sobriety checkpoints will also be conducted in locations with a history of high numbers of DUI collisions.
