April is Water Awareness Month

In April, Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) will celebrate the Water Awareness Month (WAM) by actively promoting statewide water conservation activities, events, and resources. ADWR’s “call to action” is for Arizona residents to use water more efficiently, become aware of water conservation activities in their region, and know where to turn for information and resources.

Arizonans can learn about WAM by accessing an interactive, web-based calendar and information hub, www.waterawarenessmonth.com. At the end of March, we will begin to publicize this calendar statewide through the use of Twitter, Facebook, e-mail and web links. ADWR is are counting on you, as a water expert, to take part in celebrating and promoting Water Awareness Month.

Here’s how you can get involved:
Promote WAM! ADWR has prepared widgets, materials for websites, and other forms of communication that you can customize for your customers, co-workers, and friends that will help spread the word. To get more information about these resources, send an email to: admin@waterawarenessmonth.com.
Contribute to WAM! ADWR needs your input to make WAM a statewide effort. If you know of water conservation activities in your locale, or resources related to the topics described on the WAM calendar, ADWR wants to hear from you. You can add activities, events, and other information by writing on the ADWR calendar at the following link: http://www.waterawarenessmonth.com/contributing_partner.html. While you are there, you will be able to check out the information ADWR have assembled so far, and make a pledge to help promote water awareness.
ADWR looks forward to partnering with you to make this year’s Water Awareness Month the most successful yet. If you have any questions, please contact: admin@waterawarenessmonth.com.
