1st Annual Cinco De Mayo Health Fair - May 5

Tucson Youth Development/ACE Charter High School and ReActivate have partnered to create a Cinco De Mayo Health Fair. Parents and their children of ACE Charter High School will get to experience a new and exciting program that emphasizes nutrition and exercise for living active and healthier lifestyles.

The Cinco De Mayo Health Fair is May 5, 2011 from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at ACE Charter High School, 1921 N. Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85705. The Cinco De Mayo Health Fair will include free BMI Testing, Zumba sessions, Yoga mini sessions, massages, samples of fruit smoothies, pictures with the Hoops mascot, raffle prizes and active wear donated by ReActivate. We appreciate the sponsorships from Marlene Rodriguez - Pediatric Physician, Lynette Maya - Massage Therapist, Michael Petillo - Massage Therapist, Arizona Power Yoga, Arizona Cancer Society, Sunflower, Arizona Basketball Alumni, Peggie Castle, University of Arizona Public Health, Bicas, El Grupo, Marathon Health Coach, Juice Plus+ and Southern Arizona American Diabetes Association.

"It is currently projected that nearly 75 percent of Americans will be overweight or obese by 2019. This is an alarming static. One of the main reasons for ReActivate’s existence is to educate our community on the importance of living active and healthier lifestyles and to take proactive and preventable measures to prevent disease. We stand by this message by creating health fairs with non-profits like TYD/ACE Charter High School and donating over 300 articles of clothing, shoes and gear to inspire our youth and their parents to exercise and eat healthier. ” said Lydia Kennedy, founding owner of ReActivate, LLC.

As an added incentive, participants will be given a raffle ticket after visiting each vendor. Raffle prizes include New Mizuno Running Shoes (MSRP $85.00), ReActivate T-shirts, fruit baskets and much more.

“Positive partnerships between businesses and the schools energize our community. This Cinco De Mayo is special for Tucson Youth Development because with this great support we are going to celebrate our student’s accomplishments and provide important information to our families on one of the most serious health threats of our time. All this while have a great time! ReActivate has recruited some outstanding partners for our Cinco De Mayo Health Fair. Our students, staff and parents will have fun, learn a lot and benefit tremendously. Join us!” said Arnold Palacios, Executive Director of TYD/ACE Charter High School.
