Tucson Roller Derby partners with ReActivate for Skate for Health & Wellness Fair on Sept. 17

Tucson Roller Derby kicks off it’s ninth season of female flat-track roller derby action beginning September 17th at 6pm. What makes this ninth season opener so exciting is that we’ll be kicking off the year with a 1st Annual Skate for Health & Wellness Fair.

Tucson Roller Derby is proud to partner with our sponsor ReActivate, New & Used Activewear. Owned by Lydia Kennedy, ReActivate is a new and used activewear store in Tucson, Arizona built upon the model of buying, selling and trading gently used sportswear and gear. The two have teamed up to bring awareness to the greater Tucson area by promoting and encouraging healthy lifestyles in an effort to fight obesity. We would like to invite you to join us on September 17, 2011 from 5pm – 9pm at 5120 S. Julian Drive for our 1st Annual Skate for Health & Wellness Fair.

Tucson Roller Derby's season opener is a double header that features the Furious Truck Stop Waitresses vs. Dirty Verde Roller Derby. There will also be an expo bout with the Tucson Roller Brats vs. the DV Roller Bratz. Pre-sale tickets may be purchased at ReActivate. The tickets cost is $8.00 pre-sale or $10 at the door.

As a thank you to our health & wellness vendors, they are receiving FREE admission to the September 17 bouts, their organization/business name are included on marketing materials and announced on TRD radio show(s) and during the season opener bout. A couple of the vendors involved in the event are NextCare Urgent Care and Cortiva, as well as BICAS who is providing free basic tune up & bike maintenance - so bring your bike.

Tucson Roller Derby is a non-profit organization that is skater-owned and operated, born and raised in Tucson, and dedicated to promoting mutual support with businesses in our community.
